Here are some pics of the header front/grille stripe, definitely striped without the grille in place. The other pic shows the grille reinforcement against the grille. The reinforcement and headlight doors match the header paint and were painted separately. The grille has very little paint on the top and is a slightly different shade.

The dash top paint is after the stripe white out.
Here are some pics of a Black 45k mile Vintage Legend Certified Survivor.

Look at the trailing edge of the ridge of seam sealer it has no black paint on it...

This is perhaps the best showing of the process as the edge of the cowl opening is white however the there is black in the cowl well.

Mike it was an honor to be able to take so many photos and have unrestricted access to the car for 5 years... you don't realize how great a resource it is until it is no longer.... thank God I have thousands of photos... I literally set the cam on the highest res and set it for burst and held it under the dash at all angles and under the car at every angle and let it rattle off hundreds I am so glad I did...

I have every possible stripe end shot...

How bout this factory tape job on the 51k mile Lemans Blue one I am currently restoring...
Check out the lower left hand side of the photo... anyone remember John saying the cowl grilles were hung by hooks? think they used new ones everytime? Well when they reused the hooks paint built up and eventually could remain on one of the panels...

Lets see which colors chipped off...hmmm garnet red, rally green, daytona yellow, cortez silver...

Great shot! I know that at the St. Louis assembly plant we would take the racks out in batches and burn them off occassionally. Then whack them with a hammer & brush off the excess. Really high tech!

Always the snot run to give the car a lil extra character. You gotta leave it on there somehow and don't remove it.

I bought another wiper grille to paint with the car and kept the one above to go along with the car for posterity.
