There "should" be a casting number and date on the side of the main case. As for drag racing, it's the short-tail aluminum 'Glide that is popular. Your cast iron one is probably worth less than $100. on it's best day.

There is a cast number, I just have to roll it over. I could not fathom this anchor being of much use so thanks for the clarification.
