Reminds me of my Cobleskill NY L78/M22 pacer story. You remember, don't you Chuck? I'm getting sick again!!

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, very similar. The odd thing about real solid lifter 396 pacers without papers or engine pad stamp is that you never know if they were L89s!!Mine had Z28 front spring tags which always made me think it may have been L89, This carhas the vin on the filter, mine had the original M22,so both could have been l89s,even though they only said 2 were made. Miss my old car

There's more than 2 L89 pacers out there. Only 2 that actually were at the race, that I'd believe.

There was a real nice clone at a recent auction, it even had a POP if I remember correct.

...or L34's or L35's. If it's been decked, it's been rebuilt so who's to say it always had solids? Need that paperwork!

[/ QUOTE ] Having a M22 with a vin[mine] or a 4 bolt with a vin[this car ] means L78 or L89 on a pace car . Of course someone can take a auto trans small block and change/alter all those things,so real factory paperwork is always a must.

I didn't see any proof of the 4-bolt in the ad. If someone were to "upgrade" and L34 or L35 during a rebuild, I would suspect they would find themselves a set of main caps. Not sure if they would taper the oil valley hole though.

It is an original 4 Bolt main block with the big plug on the side above the oil filter. The car has all of the original untouched Single fuel line, original BB Heater core, original correct Radiator,.I have verification coming form the original owner of the car who I spoke with yesterday for a long time about the car.
