joey et al.,
I have seen numerous examples of disconnects between Chevy docs and car stampings on legitimate, known cars with good histories and no shenanigans. I am no expert to be sure and do not suggest that I am authenticating this car. I am merely stating my observations. Mistakes did happen on the line when cars were stamped (misread, forgot to advance the ganged stamp, etc.) and when POPs were created. To think this didn't happen is to be fooling yourself. Yes, we would all like to have all of our cars perfectly documented with no glitches, questions, anomolies, etc. and setting such standards is terrific. But, you could be missing out on some terrific rides. Good luck, Joey! ![]()

Rick, did Francis Chevrolet move down the street at some point. I wonder why my P-O-P would show a different address? I have talked to the original owner and he confirmed buying the car at Francis Chevrolet. Also, my car is missing the Francis tailpanel emblem so if someone has one I would be interested.

I think they did move later to your location.
That picture was taken last year at a local cruise from the back of a Chevy II,and was authentic from it's original selling dealer. |

Part of the problem is the pic of the engine pad stamping is not clear enough to see the broach marks. You need a camera with a macro setting.
