Default Re: Carb date to Build date question

Tom;

Vehicle assembly.

I used to go by engine assembly date in order to "play it safe" since at the time I was getting conflicting info on exactly when the carburetors were mated with their engines. Some people were saying when the engine was built, others when the vehicle was built.

By initially going off the engine buld date, were someone to use that as their reference point, no one could say the carb was too late for the car. Better a little early than too late. (hope that made sense)

Now it seems fairly clear (hope I didn't just jinx myself by saying that ) that the carbs weren't installed until the vehicle was being assembled, so that's what I go by now.

(Why do I have an uneasy feeling that this could open up a giant can of worms? )

Eric
