I just learned of the 2.5 1st gear today on these M-22 gear sets, which is one of the reasons I want to run them. Up until now i thought they were the original 2.20 1st gear only. I don't know who Crash is. If I do this swap I think I am going to use a local guy who has a few of his customers running the Italian gear sets with good results. I am going to stick with someone local (CT) as shipping a trans is a problem

I put them in my M-22...they were cost effective as I needed first and third gear=$$$ Ed Hartnett in Pa did the job...he speaks highly of them.

A friend of mine bought a beautiful 1969 M-22 from him about five years ago. It came packed in a wooden box that's as nice as the tranny. "jetboatbill" can tell you about the Italian gearsets.  What do you use them for to grate cheese with or maybe as a pasta machine...lets see M-22 straight cut gears makes Rigatoni while M-21 gears cuts ziti
