Hmmmm, just to make sure and to double check the casting numbers on the 70 L78's, I just went back to both of my reference books, including Colvins, and it states that the early 70 BB's used the 065's.

By the way Sam, what is the build date of your car, and the assembly date of the L78? I will keep my eyes open for you. [/ QUOTE ] Tony, Car is an 01C, and the L78 CKO engine was assembled in Tonawanda Dec 19 (T1219CKO) Thanks

A November casting date would also work.

I think Alan has since revised that statement.
It was discussed on one of the Websites in the Winter, and no one was able to find one dated Past early 1969. I would guess that they did use up #065's inventory on the later 69,early 70 BB vehicles,as they ALL used that design pump. My Oct.69 built L-78 Chevelle & all the ones I have complied a database from had #811's,as well as the LS-6's I could document as original equipment. The pump I mentioned earlier I have is Dated Dec.17,1969. |
