Marlin, thanks. I dug through my junk and found Ed C.'s book and got the info. Oil pan, timing cover, cast iron water pump and balancer all black.

What water pump part# did the ZL-1 use?

I think most should have the standard BB 065 casting #. I think the 811's didn't come out till around May of 69?
