ZL-1 Water Pump and Finishes

What is the correct casting number for a 69 ZL-1 Camaro water pump? Is it the standard #065 or #811 BB long pump or was an AL pump used? What color was the oil pan and timing cover? Black?

I think the best place for the ZL1 finishes is Ed's book, he has a page devoted to the colors/finishes of the engine.

Can anyone give me more information about Ed's book and how I can get a copy of it?

Marlin, thanks. I dug through my junk and found Ed C.'s book and got the info. Oil pan, timing cover, cast iron water pump and balancer all black.

What water pump part# did the ZL-1 use?

Re: ZL-1 Water Pump and Finishes

I think most should have the standard BB 065 casting #. I think the 811's didn't come out till around May of 69?
