According to Colvin's 65-69 Chevy by the numbers, this block was used from Apr/May69 through 75. All 4 bolt mains, 350/300HP used in 69 Chevelle,Chevy II, Camaro & Corvette.

Is the CEA stamped up on the pad? Looks to be an over the counter CE engine. I don't find the XCD anywhere.

got it..what I need is good book with all the suffix numbers!!

I should have snaped a pic of the block but when he had the fiberglass seat do-hicky out we were over at my other shop trying out seats in it and did not have a camera with me...we had some steel wool and it cleaned up perfect..numbers were clear as a bell..only thing worth noting is when the guy striked the CEA1338 stamp the 44 was left off??? as it is stamped crooked behind the CEA1338 and looks like it was done free hand as the 44 overlap each other slightly...thats all I know..it would be nice to decode this thing as it is some kind of over the counter motor the guy bought new way back when.
