ok..found a site with codes for the trim tag...where is the vin stamped and how should it look if it is original and not monkey'd with..also do they stamp the axel housing??? I have the code for the rearends on the trim tag but how do you verify the rear is correct for the car??? and did they stamp vins on the trans..or just those metal tags I recall??

Torino GTs from 1968 are really nothing to tell your friends about unless they have a CJ. 390s are not exactly rare, and they are stones in comparison to other mid-displacement cars of the period. Engine code should be an "S" if a 4bbl. They never made a 427 in that body.

'68 Galaxy 500 302,C4 new, presently 429 C6 looks like factory install, orig Black guts, starting to split at seems otherwise perfect, painted a bright copper metallic....
