Bud,
not sure there was a 68 Fairlane GT. The 390 was not necessarily a hipo motor either. Now a 68 Fairlane 427, that would be worth picking up!

Here is a Fairlane 500 Fastback for $800. http://www.collectorcartraderonline....4/77145284.htm

I have the code for the rearends on the trim tag but how do you verify the rear is correct for the car??? and did they stamp vins on the trans..or just those metal tags I recall??

Torino GTs from 1968 are really nothing to tell your friends about unless they have a CJ. 390s are not exactly rare, and they are stones in comparison to other mid-displacement cars of the period. Engine code should be an "S" if a 4bbl. They never made a 427 in that body.
