I use basic sand blasting sand and a standup outdoor blaster. For many of you following I dont get bogged down in the details of thinking the most exocitc process is the best. I keep things as simple as I can. In terms of sand I use the stuff stocked at the local Menards for those that live in the midwest. Most here on the forum are gonna die laughing but I still use the old school lacquer based primers. Im not afraid to use the lacqur direclty on the blasted metal. Once I get into the stage of sanding and removing pits 90% of the first coat is sanded off. Body panel work is a total different story. I get into the more better adhering epoxy primers for my basecoat but still layer body filler and lacquire primer on top of that.

Ocassionally i will use a 2k high build primer but I will only get into that with easily sanded surfaces and heavier pitting. This car will not require and 2k as im already finding a single sand is elimating all pits if they even exist.

AND takes all day with a pot blaster. I see you sweep it up and screen it back in the pot too. Been there, done that, but only once. Now I farm that out. Getting more difficult to find places that blast anymore though.
Your media looks like black diamond, coal slag. I do use that on frames but use the white play sand for other things.

Default 12 Bolt 4 Series Carrier for the 4.56

Well Scratch my earlier question on this. Just as an update. I decided it would compliment the L89 to go with a set of 4.56 grears when i get to assembling the rear end. Managed to find a real nice guy on facebook that sent me a carrier that had some damage in the pinion shaft area. Sent me a second housing.

Its nice to see some folks out there have some high levels of integrety in spite of what you see in the news or online.

Thankyou. I have cars I drive and I have cars I dont. After you spend about 3 years and 1500 plus hours on a restoration like this Im not able to bring myself to even take it down the road. As i work through this particular car its just so clean, it just reinforces the idea of not even risking a rock chip.

Im not sure what the car had for original transmission but kinda assumed it was an M20. When I went digging into my parts I found a very complete orignal Jan date 69 M21, so thats what its getting along with everything else.
