I'm surprised to hear you say that. People that were kids when those late 70's cars came out are in their late 40's early 50's now and now have the money are buying the cars of their dreams. I don't see any difference in those cars as to people paying 300k for a yenko or Hemi or what we liked when we were kids. No car is WORTH that money. It's what your willing to pay to make you happy. A long time ago a guy I met told me you can never spend too much on a good car, your just buying a little early. Take that for what it's worth.

Also the examples sold are an anomaly those prices are even close to the norm.!

You're not going out hunting LS-6 Chevelle's in a stock one, but some very basic tweaking makes it a formidable street car. Big price spikes like this always start out as anomaly. 60's musclecars went from borderline worthless to shockingly valuable through a series of similar anomalies. |

(or throw a 455 short block under it - that is the fun thing about Pontiacs - all the blocks look the same from the outside ) Look at what we did with Gramma's car. Does this mean I have to up the insurance value again on our 75? |

110K for a 1980 turbo in the wrapper. I was sitting with JW and Tenney at R&S Newport a couple years ago when J Dubs 10TH with 30 miles hammered for around 60k, and that one belonged to the man. How many tens of thousands of starlight black TA's did they make? Insane indeed. Conversely, the monkey garage cat got whacked on his serial# one & two gen 5 COPO's, what a look on his face.. |

In addition to Jim & Joe (Dirt) provenance, it's a 4spd, and so has the 400 (last year Pontiac motor). Per JW, they'd pitched a different interior scheme for the 10th, but GM had a bunch of silver leather and carpet kicking around from the '78 Pace Car and Silver Anniversary 'Vettes, so that's what it got. Still in good company (and driven a little!) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-CYfXgBeXc |
