Finders fees.

A local guy I know some what well and considered a friend told me he wanted to sell a 30+ acre plot of ground for $130k. Later that same day I told a client of mine about it and he went to my friends house and bought it that night from him directly, no middle man, no real estate agent involved. From the time my friend told me about to when he had a signed contract was less than 8 hours

My "friend" did not call to thank me and he knew exactly who sent my client his way because my client told him..a finders fee? yeah right.

No longer a friend and he knows why.

BTW my client thanked me for the lead numerous times and I still have his business to this day

I have done some referrals and sometimes helped people sell there car for no fees at all. Some people have thanked me but some have not.

One thing is for sure I don't do any more favours for no one unless they give me a finders fee up front or pay me to sell there car so it is advertised world wide.

It is so sad when you help someone and do not get acknowledgment or Thanks for what you do but getting older you get wiser and just know that the average Joe will use you for what you know and expect to give you nothing.
