incorrect. GM took some of the money they got on loan and paid THAT back to the gov't saying they paid some of the the loan back.. How underhanded..

I think Ford is doing it right and GM has a difficult road to recover. They have not paid back the bailout money and are beholden to the Unions and Obama. The results are cars like the $41K Volt that goes 40 miles on a charge...good grief. They are destined to build a bunch of government mandated cars that no one wants. I still don't think the Z will make it though the red tape, gotta watch those CAFE numbers, but one can hope.
Ford has the freedom to build cars people want like the Boss 302, hopefully it is not too late for GM but time is running out. Until the government gets out of the car business, I am a Ford buyer. |

[quote=flyingn]take it from lifetime GM guy.. Ford IS leading the pack.. Drive em both..
I also was a GM guy my entire life until 2006 when i picked up my 2007 GT 500 Shelby. Don't forget that its been 3 straight years that the GT500 was the king of the Muscle Pony cars from 2007 to 2010. (i will not include a corvette as a muscle car as it is a sports car, Is a GT 40 a muscle car?) Sure GM may come out with a Z28 with 550 H/P but it may be a little late come 2011 as Ford just keeps raising the bar. In 2011 the GT 500 will now come with an Aluminum block and bigger super charger with just as much H/P or more. Let the Muscle car wars begin !! Hoestly i am glad i bought my FORD 2007 Shelby GT 500 when i did as i have driven the other 2 Pony cars i still to this day would not have bought a new Camaro or Challenger as i still think the GT 500 Shelby is the best Muscle Pony car out there. Just my 2 cents.

Wouldn't it be nice if they were all to come out with a five litre engine and resurrect the Trans Am series. Mosport is only about 25 miles away. I'd be there to watch in a "heart beat".

I am calm Don. Yea i love em both but I am salty with GM since they took the loan and then LIED about paying it back so that the public can be 'proud' of them and buy their cars instead of making good cars that people actually want. Also they killed Pontiac.. grrrrr

the 011 GT500 is 550 hp now.. With the bolt on Ford racing power parts(installed by a dealer) 750 hp kit(new blower and fuel pump and tune) its a 680 HP rear wheel car.. Nothing short of amazing. Remember its a 331 cube motor
