i usually just use semi-black paint for gm firewalls and under body.
the name of the product i used was POR-15,it is also to protect the metal from rust as well. my car never had a frame off but with some sanding and this paint it looks great underneath. ![]()

Most of the paint I see used is too dull it actually had some sheen to it, this is the factory shade on my 68 in the rear wheel house and frame and one with the bump stop removed to see the shade under it
