Ditto on the bird poop

Seriously, as long as the car will not sit outside or see any real weather, and will not be driven on a daily basis, I don't think you'll need to do anything more than routine cleaning. Over the course of many years, it will develop a certain patina, but that's a good thing in my mind. My 69 Chevelle still has the original white top and it really does have patina.

Put it down!!

I like Vinylex, will protect, maintain and also clean it. I installed a used, original white convertible top on my Chevelle which was dirty and I used a "mixed cocktail" of Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner and Magic Eraser Pads along with lots of elbow grease and it came out looking great!!
