[ QUOTE ]
Pete, When you say "long rumored," does that mean the two '70 Daytons "built with 1970 sheet metal" referenced by Wikipedia have not been verified to exist? I though one was "sitting in a yard in PA"? JB Wikipedia Charger Page [/ QUOTE ] I think he's referring to Jerry's purple car out here in Kansas, which has been pretty thoroughly de-bunked at this point, and the oddly painted green car that appeared in a photograph taken in 1970 and hasn't been heard from or seen since. Never heard of the one in PA. ![]() |

I was asking because I don't know. I vaguely remember someone pointing out a '70 winged Charger that was in a state of neglect somewhere. I went to Wikipedia because it had general info on the Charger 500 that I was looking for.
I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to sit in these cars when they were new, and experience the exhiliration from the smell of the interior, sound of the running Hemis and 440's, the sight of it sitting there rumbling. These are things I will never forget even though it was 40 years ago. All I could afford at the time was a new Z/28 with a $101 a month payment, but it did not stop me from shopping. JB |
