Yes, it was a Camaro spoiler. Not an option on the Firebird that I am aware of.

[ QUOTE ]
Jim:

It's my understanding that the Ram Air pans and hood were not available on Firebirds until approximately March of 1969 (which would coincide with the introduction of the T/A). This Firebird was built at Lordstown in November of 1968. It is one of those well-maintained (loved) cars. It runs and drives beautifully and the trans shifts like new. Thanks for the interest, Ed

Ed, very nice and rare car...The way I understand it, the early option 348 cars used "FB 400 R/A" on the invoice description. The later cars (around 12/68) used "FB 400 HO" for the description. In either case, the 611 "R/A HD air inlet" option had to be ordered to get the RA pans.

Again, in either case, they came with all the goodies, long branch exhaust manifolds, RA carb, etc.

Interestingly, the GTO when ordered with the 348 option automatically included the RA pans...go figure.

Good luck with the sale, Oh, and...

Mike

I like this car and if it came down to owning this or a similar 396-325 HP Camaro, I'd pick this 'Bird first any day of the week!

It really looks right in this "DY" paint!

Sam:

I think the redlines make the paint really pop. I always liked that look on 69 Corvettes, that's why I put them on the Firebird.

Mark:

I think this Firebird would spank a 325 HP car. JMO, Ed
