It sounds as if the "03" is really "08" since that would make more sense. Could it be a light stamp with the 8 or maybe someone grabbed the 3 instead. Some guys can tell you if the body number and VIN are in line if you post the numbers.

Vin is 483131, I don't have the body number with me...I'll try and post that later today.

Howard, my '68 Z is a Norwood-built car with an "03D" build date and VIN of 402672. Hope that helps. Tex Timberlake

Your car was built in July 68.
see this chart at CRG ," 1967-1969 LOS/NOR End-of-Month Monthly VIN Report: http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml scroll about 1/4 way down that page. Mike |

I would say the 041's are correct! I have a 07E 68 with a 0702 assy date on a L-30..With F 21 dates on the heads..
I have been searching for other late build 327's to compare to mine...It's not been easy! Steve |

I need to get a new harmonic balancer for this same car...I've looked in most of the parts catalogs and so far no one offers one for a 1968 327 engine. There's a listing for one for 1967. Anyone know what the difference is?
I also need the tube that runs from the heat stove to the bottom of the air cleaner snorkel and can't find that. Any suggestions?

Might have something to do with it being pressed on only and not using a bolt in the crankshaft....The one thing I hate about this L-30....I have a heat stove pipe and can share a pic if needed.
