Default 1970 834 Alternators vs. 837's

Maybe somebody can help me out here, Colvin's book says that the 834 Alt. is correct for the 402 Nova (L34.?), yet my L78 Nova has, what appears to be an orig 837, Does the 837 denote Deep groove pulley and HP fan (mine has those items).???, I believe the 837 came stock on LS6's, not sure though. Thanks for the help
