Default Re: Hidden vin mystery?

Reach in the cowl area and feel underneath the partial VIN stamp. If you don't feel anything obvious, check with a mirror to look for any tampering. It's something I always do. Only one time have I felt the weld stitching (top looked fine under paint), and it'll startle you for a sec.

It doesn't really make sense to splice a hidden to not have it match the dash plate VIN, but who knows. Something to check at least.
