I would Buy that Chevelle with a Third Party,Post Dated,out of State Check.

When I was looking into insurance, they (condon and Skelly, I think) had a table for maximum agreed value of around $15,000. When I said it had a 427, they bumped it 40%. That's probably the reason the guy mentioned NADA and 427 in the same breath.
