In '69 a #621 bell housing was installed on the L48 engine (w/4spd.)

Damn, I recently got a good deal on a 403 and mint 10.4" flywheel. I didn't think it would come standard with an 11" clutch.

According to Jerry M's book that #403 would go on a '69 Z/28 (was also used on many late 1960's Chevys) and was designed to accommodate a 10.4" clutch assembly. The 4th. edition is a very informative book if you ever want to pick up a book on 1969 Camaros.

That figures, I bought the flywheel and bell housing from a guy who mostly restores first Gen Camaros. Thanks for the tip on the book. I'm always looking for information and photos of L48-related subject matter. Phil, (woj) has been a big help.
I think what threw me off as well, I have an HA stamped block. That decodes as a 69' A, F, or X body 350/300 HP w/ MT. Then it appears a block stamped HP would be the same application + a heavy duty clutch. I've never seen a block stamped HP, so not even sure if they exist.

The book is called "The Definitive 1969 Z/28-SS396 Fact Book" by Jerry MacNeish. The one I have is the revised 4th. edition. The book also includes SS350 and COPO L72 information.
