Default 70 Z28 Engine Block Casting Numbers



Has anyone seen casting numbers as crooked as these?

nope, those look pretty wild thats for sure,

I have seen plenty of parts/bits of the numbers missing from a bad/loose casting but all the ones I have looked are spaced even and in a nice row.

That looks just like an old 71 0010 block i have.I saw your picture ,ran out to the garage & bam Looks just like it. I can e-mail a pic if you like.

The 010 block has many different applications in both 2 & 4 bolt configurations, and are fairly plentiful. I think the block started in '69, might be '68 - but I'm pretty sure it's '69+. The casting numbers are generally pretty straight, not sure I've ever seen them crooked like that.

Just took some pics.Don't know were to put the camera card in this old laptop i'm using.Will send them as soon as i get to work in the morning.This is the motor for my 01E 71 Z28 that i just re-freshed.
