nope, those look pretty wild thats for sure,

I have seen plenty of parts/bits of the numbers missing from a bad/loose casting but all the ones I have looked are spaced even and in a nice row. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Those numbers did not hit me right when I saw them. So what is this block?

Have you tried tapping the casting number with a small hammer?
I ran into a situation similar to yours,and found a homemade raised casting number epoxied over a flat surface.

Rick I was thinking of buying the car so I am just doing some leg work before I tap the numbers with a hammer.Good idea.
