Is there any opinion on this ebay ad related to the fact that only the outside ports get the washers?
Particularly i'm thinking about 69Z/28's ebay exh washers

It's been my understanding that only the bolts that got the french locks got the washers.

Nope. The washer is against the manifold, then the french lock is under the bolt head.
Maybe we're saying the same thing............?? Verne |

My nova has the lock washer in front of the french lock against the exhaust manifold. So its the bolt, lock washer, french lock and onto the manifold. I guess if it was the other way around the french lock would not allow a good seat on the manifold maybe.

Sam,
It's not a lock washer; it's a thick flat washer. The french lock needs to be under the bolt head, against the flats, so it can do its job by preventing the bolt to turn. Verne |

I am with you Verne. I guess whoever did my car did it there way. Probably will see this done on survivor cars both ways. The tabs need to be bent over the heads of the bolts like you said.

I have some originals around here somewhere that I can measure Eddie.
I am guessing you are concerned that they are the correct size, and zinc plated? The plating on mine probably won't be detectable, as they are old used originals. May soak in some rust remover and see how they come out. Hope your not in a hurry. Some of us don't live in Ariz (or S. Cal or Fl for that matter). It's cold out in the garage.
