Default ZL1/L88 198 intake, NOS 074 heads

Thinning out the parts for a good cause, so before I eBay them I wanted to offer them to members first:

1. 198 aluminum intake, 10/29/69 date, this is a REAL DEAL factory 198 intake...NOT a ground-off restamp of a 163 intake nor one of those fakes that are being produced right now. I bought this intake a while back from Crane Corvette and never used it...$650

2. NOS pair of 074 cylinder heads. Service date heads. These still have the pink dye mark on them...$3500

Pics will be posted as soon as I find a camera that works.
Prices do not include shipping.

All proceeds go to..."Fred's Supercar Fund"...

One head is 9/5/72 and the other has a 07118 in that same spot...not sure if that's a date or how to read that?

Thanks. The 07118 is not a casting date. Is the other head also a '72 date?

Warren, 07118 actually is a date. This is being discussed over on Team Chevelle. I have been trying to figure out if it is July 11th of 1978 or 1988 but it IS definitely a casting date.

Maybe someone on this site can answer that question.

Here are a couple of pictures with similar dates.

Kurt

Kurt,

The last year these heads were cast was 1976. I've had several sets and have done quite a bit of research on the 3946074 heads, especially since I own the cars these came on from the factory. There are also particular stampings that separate the assembly production heads from the over the counter heads. I was hoping your dates were for late 1970. Thanks, Warren

Just saw your post up here on the 07118 head. I also have a set that are both cast with 07118. They are cast where the date is so it has to have something to do with date coding. Was wondering if you had found out any more information?? Not sure how to post pictures on here or I would share the pictures of these heads.

842 heads were installed onto 1968-1969 and the always elusive 1970 L89 vehicles.

I have had many 68 dates and have also had sets like the ones shown. Real 68 dated heads are dated like 68 Winter's intakes.
