Looks like a plain 318 hardtop to me.
![]() Sucks either way. Hope it gets rescued in one piece. |

One of the long rumored 'factory' '70 Daytonas perhaps?.
Nahhh...that same Vin appears elsewhere online for sale as the '70 Daytona replica it obviously is (was?).. ![]() ~ Pete -------------------- I like real cars best...especially the REAL real ones! |

Pete,
When you say "long rumored," does that mean the two '70 Daytons "built with 1970 sheet metal" referenced by Wikipedia have not been verified to exist? I though one was "sitting in a yard in PA"? JB Wikipedia Charger Page |

The vin says it all. It's a 318-powered clone. XP in 1970 was the Charger 500 model which has nothing in common with the aero 69 Charger 500 other than the nameplate. No fastback, nor aero equipment. It was Dodge's way of marketing on the name to create a model that was one step above the base Charger. XH would be the base Charger model, XS would be the R/T.
In 1969 XX was the Charger 500 and Daytona, though some initial cars slipped through with XS vins which created havoc at DMVs all over the country when the paperwork would say XX but the vin tags would be stamped XS. |
