Default Z/28 fuel line

I'm In the Process of restoring my 69 z/28. After 22years of owning it I decided to give it a clean up. My Question is the fuel line is original(3/8) and has black paint on it and slight scaling. What is the best way to clean it up? I feel it is best to leave the original one on the car. I replaced the Brake lines Years ago with stainless ones. Should I just replace it also?

Not sure about the black paint..sounds like someone did some spray can upgrade years ago....as for stainless fuel lines...I don't like them they tend to leak...the OEM steel is a better choice IMHO

Maybe use some laquer thinner on them and some of the "safest rust remover".
