First they ran through the WHOLE SHOW with a slipping clutch in the Hemi Challenger.
They had a GS convertible, so if it's true that the 'vert weighs a few hundred lbs. more than the hardtop, then the GS had a disadvantage in every test. The Mustang and the Chevelle tied for 1st place, so in the burnout contest/tie breaker, the Mustang won because it had a 4-spd. versus the Turbo400 in the SS. It was alot of fun to watch, but a little attention to detail would have helped. ...especially for the Mopar dudes. ![]() ![]() Mac

It was fun to watch, but lacking in real credibilty. Like you said, the GS was a convert and had factory air for even more weight. The Hurst Olds and the Challenger both had manual steering - lotsa fun in the slalom course

Due to the different transmissions and not all cars having a tall rear gear, it wasn't what could be classified as a "level playing field" in my opinion. Very surprised the Stage 1 won the slalom, but was middle of the pack for the speed tests. As Bill mentioned, the extra weight didn't help. Mustang performance was certainly not what I expected either.
If the Hemi did not have a clutch problem, and/or the LS6 had a 4.10 rear, results would likely have been different. Also, I wish the Judge would have been a Ram Air IV rather than III, that certainly would have improved the Goat's performance. I really enjoyed the show and thought it was well produced ![]() ![]()

you have to give LMC a big thumbs up for pulling those cars off the showroom and taking them out and pretty much running the snot out of them....in my opinion that took some stones...
