Default 3970010 block casting

was the same physical casting used for all 4 bolt 3970010 applications in 1970. I think that casting # was used for a long time for many different applications but I'm wondering if there is any difference in the casting or machining that would differentiate an LT1 for the others for a feb 70 block??

Weren't the percentages cast into the block in the timing chain area? Like 010 or 020. Something like that?

I have two of those blocks. I'll have to look in the area you're refering to. Never noticed it before.

So would the nickle content markings be different for say the 270 hp vette block?
