3970010 block casting

was the same physical casting used for all 4 bolt 3970010 applications in 1970. I think that casting # was used for a long time for many different applications but I'm wondering if there is any difference in the casting or machining that would differentiate an LT1 for the others for a feb 70 block??

Weren't the percentages cast into the block in the timing chain area? Like 010 or 020. Something like that?

I have two of those blocks. I'll have to look in the area you're refering to. Never noticed it before. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

So would the nickle content markings be different for say the 270 hp vette block?
