You needs a Capacitor Tester Sam. See if there is a electronics shop around, even a TV repair guy might be able to help.

Figured you'd be in the know there shipmate. Any concerns about them frying it or should I be a trusting sole?

Or find someone with a Sun distributor tester. They have a condenser test section.

eww, that's good to know! Thanks Steve. Been doing a lot of reading on doing true, no-sh*t testing on condensers with results that are meaningful. There is ALOT of mis-information out there . That little condenser is VERY important.

Sam,

I just found out how important the condenser is on my 69 Malibu, 350/300 hp. It lost the connection between the wire and spade at the points. Car still ran, but barely. I put the pertronix ignition in that distributor and I can say the car has never run better.

Good luck with your endeavor.
