How do you keep red wall tires red

I have noticed that the red wall on my tires have become more of a darker red, for cleaning I use a soft brush with a dab of comet and avoid hitting the red line.Is their a way to keep the walls from darkening? The tires are about two years old with maybe 500 miles on them. Any tips are greatly appreciated. John Q.
