The # stamped on the shroud has no correlation to the car build sequence. The shrouds was hand drilled for the screws holding the 2 halves together. Since the top part was to be chromed both parts were number stamped so they would fit together correctly after chroming.
In reality the first car could have #23 shroud.
And the code was L69 for the tri carbed cars with the small air cleaners.[img]
