I just picked up a 1 owner 72 ralley nova and it has bucket seats console and 3spd auto floor shift with rubber floor mat..I thought bucket seats would have been the dlx interior therefore u get carpet?

That is my understanding as well, unless it changed for '72.

Re: nova question?

There was a 'standard' bucket seat cover, along with a 'deluxe'. The standard cover was fairly plain. I can see it having a rubber mat, whereas the deluxe interior option would get the woodgrain door panels, carpet, fancy upholstery, and more.

I parted out a rusty '72 SS a few years ago that had the standard buckets, standard door panels, console, and scraps of rubber floor mat. There was no carpet.

Then it's a standard interior (no carpet, no deluxe anything) with bucket seats.

In '72, when the bucket seat style changed to the integrated highback version, GM offered up buckets both in a standard interior and deluxe interior. There was different upholstery for each version.
