There were several kinds back in the day. I have a Mr/ Gasket instruction sheet I've posted before. Post a pic of what you have and I'll try and dig out the right set of instructions.

Okay, well that one is similar to the Mr. Gasket, but it has a lower base.

The Mr Gasket one I posted above came with a bracket bent just like yours. Mine had a stud and a wingnut, but does the same thinga s the bolt. See where it says bend as required...

You'll have to give it a try and adjust till it holds the base down firmly and clears the choke horn.

I can't tell you how many of those nuts went down carbs in the day ...

the bridge would bend and the nut would come loose and go right down the carb ... IF you are using one loctite it

I always checked mine and you're right, the nut did come loose. Never lost one though. That was back when I'd never heard of Loctite. I just used 2 nuts and chinced them together. I've done the same thing since to raise the lid above the base when racing. Simple, as long as you know how to use 2 wrenches at the same time..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
