Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth?
dunno sounds like he thinks he has gold, I had a '73 about the same 2 yrs ago, a roller, fact tach, nice dash pad, blk int setup for 4spd, rebuilt front susp etc, a decent heap only neg couple small blisters in the quartes about the size of a nickle, had a hell of time getting $1500 for it.

he wants around 6k.

Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth?
Cannot see any of the pictures on the link. 6K sounds high. Several years ago I gave $1,000.00 for a 72 in very solid condition. I had been taken apart, but the only thing I had to replace was the piece that goes between the rear glass and the trunk. Again that was years ago.

I cant see any pix, so based on the description, I'd say it's worth around $2500.

1,500.00

Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth?
I would surely tell him to KEEP IT for that amount of $$$! I would say $1500.00 to $2500.00 depending on a first hand inspection and not relying on pictures! He must have seen that Camaro from Oregon go across the block at Barrett Jackson!

I know the guy pretty well. He would sell it I am sure.
He bought it along with a few others. A guy had some cars but only wanted to sell them all at once. He wanted a 68 Camaro and his friend wanted the 70 Nova. He loves the old school stuff. |
Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth
I could see if it were an optioned car. Maybe an RS, SS or Z. The nice thing about a 70 is they still had the 12 bolt and low back buckets with headrests. This car has none of them.
Where was I when you guys were trying to unload these cars? lol |
Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth
You should try to find one a bit more solid.
Thats going to need a boat load of work and its just a plane jane... Wait out for a better starter car... |
Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth
front bumper is std and cut w a hack saw to look like a rs.

Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth
One of my MAJOR pet peeves is when someone calls a 70-73 Camaro a Split bumper car. The split bumper was part of the RS package only! It could have been a plain RS, an RS/SS or RS/Z28. People just don't listen or care.

[/ QUOTE ] Not all 1970 Camaros had 12 bolts. The SS and Z/28 were the only ones. The 1970 Camaro in my opinion is the most sought after of the second generation. The difficultly in restoring these cars is that there are a lot of one year only parts on the car I.E seats, steering wheel, hood springs, one year only 12 bolt if SS or Z/28, rear defroster, the rear package tray is one year only as well. Early cars also had a different driver side inner fender. Honestly the price is a little high but it's worth alot more then $1000-1500. Since it is missing a lot of the original parts I would offer him $2500-3000. Rick H. |

Re: What do you guys think this 70 Camaro is worth
He got bent out of shape on one forum. He would never state a price. I guess he thought everyone would be after and try to offer more to try and get it. He finally said $5,000 could buy it.
