Just talked to the N.J. State Police and they have just put out a bulletin for this weekend concerning Gangs.
Here is the deal, This weekend is Gang initiation time and Gang members will be driving around with there headlights off. If you flash them they will shoot at you and try to kill you.

I really feel sorry for the poor fools that just forgot to turn their headlights on... because anybody driving around here with their lights off, we just assume they are gangbangers and shoot at them.

I was told this directly from the State police, I dont think they would be BSing people...anyway, why take the chance? I also got the other one I posted in the mail by a Harrahs Casino Exec.who is pretty credible..

Actually, what Sam is talking about can and has happened. There were a few gang members in Spokane about 10 years ago, shooting at people who ever flashed their car lights at them. Fortunately it came to an abrupt stop by local police officers.

Took a total of 30 seconds of time to forward a story that may save someones life if they just ignore a car with there lights off, myth or not, just being aware was worth all of the 30 seconds it took..

Lights on, Lights off, In general, why is it that in states with Concealed Carry these gangs are not quite so bold??

I wonder if these gangs in known anti 2nd ammendment states would be so fast to attack if they knew the person they may be after could be trained to shoot back and might actually be able to consistantly hit a target? Many states have Concealed Carry laws and the crime rate always drops.

Any Pistol shooter will tell you it takes practice to shoot and hit a target consistantly. The TV BS of "Bangers" shooting sideways "gang style" is little more than "spray and pray" in the real world.

The "Urban Legends and Folklore" site is the first place I go when I read things like this. I like to make sure before I send something out.

How many times has this girl been reported missing? The latest is an "Amber Alert" e-mail that's been going around. I thought she looked familiar and Urban Legends confirmed that, once again, it is a hoax.

i really can't remember when, but a year or so ago there was something like this going around in my area. can't recall where i got the information at that time but i do remember not flashing my lights at anybody.
