Aloha and welcome. Thought most of the members here are Chevy folks there are some that cross over to the dark side also https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif and if you do a search on Hemi you will find some other threads on the topic. One guy here Kevin has a very nice all around car collection that includes some of the best Hemis around if not the best. They can be seen on his web site : http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/

Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

The car is FE5 Red with black interior. It is one of one known to exsist according to Galen for the following reason. It was ordered with the 426 Hemi engine, 4.10 Super performance Rear, Stripe delete, radio delete, spolier package front and rear. What really makes the car special is that is was ordered from the factory with the T/A fiberglass hood. Only one other Hemi with T/A hood known of and that car is rumored to have been dismantled. Original 29,000 mile car. Patrick

Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

Do you have paperwork with the car showing the T/A hood as an option? I didn't think you could get that hood on anything other than the T/A. That's pretty sweet if it really is original to the car!

Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

The N94 code is for the Fiberglass T/A Hood. It is listed on the build sheet and fender tag. My understanding is that it could be ordered as an option if desired. However it was overlooked because it wasn't marketed at all in the marketing literature unlike the Shaker hood. Car was in storage for 18 years before being decoded recently. Was ordered late in the 1970 production year. Who ever ordered must have seen the hoods on the T/A's and ordered it for this Hemi Car. No other ones documented as of yet that exsist. Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

Hello Michael. According to Galen's and the T/A registry, this is the only registered one. There was another drag racer that was rusted out and taken apart years ago with the N94 on the build sheet. If theirs another, your friend may want to consider registering it. Its quite a find. Patrick

I just found a 64 Plymouth Savoy Max wedge 426 car for a good friend. Turns out that car is one of 11 aluminum front end cars....and this one raced the 64 Winternationals and many other Southern california Dragstrips, under the Glenwood Motors sponsorship in Riverside, CA. It will debut tomorrow at the big MOPAR Spring Fling show in Van Nuys, CA.

YEP!!!............. Hemis'.....................

Last time I looked, Floyd Garrett had eight under one roof and a couple of very nice Max Wedge cars. All originals.

Makes me really appreciate the early Mopar Supercars.

Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

I'm new here, too. If you want to join another board with all the info you could ever want, check out moparts.com. I've been a member there for a while. Your Challenger wouldn't happen to be the car that came from Mexico would it? I remember a feature about a car that was found in Mexico years ago that had a factory T/A hood. As far as why the T/A hood was available, Chrysler didn't have enough parts for Shakers, so most of them went on 'Cudas. If you ordered a Hemi Challenger R/T, you got the standard rallye hood, whereas a Hemicuda got a Shaker. The T/A hoods were an option for those who wanted a fresh air hood. Shaker Challengers are rare, but non-T/As with glass T/A hoods are exceedingly rare. Sounds like a sweet ride! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Patrick-
I have some pretty cool, fairly rare photos of some Ramo Stott's 1970 ARCA Championship 'Bird and of some restored street "birds and Daytonas along with a pretty cool ARCA/GN Charger driven by Ernie Durr. These pics were taken at a Vintage Racers Reunion in Keokuk, IA honoring Ramo and Ernie. They are too big to post here, I have sent some copies via e-mail to Belair (sorry to jam up your inbox---). Not sure how to get them to the appropriate res to post them here.

hi, did this car come out of central texas. There was a red hemi challenger n94 car in texas in mid to late 80's. phil

Re: Hemi guy new to board!!

This is probably the same car. It found its way to Florida in the mid-80's and was in storage from 1987 to this year. Please contact by personal E-mail if you know any history on the car. I have info from original owner who ordered specifically for racing SS/DA division 3 NHRA in 1970 and 1971. Ran against some Sox and Martin sponsored cars. He sold it in 1971. I have no history from then to about 1985. Thanks, Patrick https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif
