Better get Rob in on that tire stuff! I like colder plugs at the track.

You guys should have seen some of the looks and heard the comments from people... like what in the hell are you doing racing a 45k mile original car?

Ummm https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif maybe because thats what it was built to do...https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Do some burnouts and make sure you have all the tire on the ground.. That was Rob's advice to me at Gateway when I ran my car.

And don't be surprised if you go WAY up in pressure. I think Rob is running between 42 and 45 PSI in the Polyglas, and I went to 42 before I got away from the strong edge marks. Even with the 275-14 ProTracs I was up in the high 30s to get an even pattern.
May be quite a bit different if you're running drag radials though.

I'm surprised they let you race with the drivers side window down?

When running slicks i never go above 13psi and never below 9.5. Getting that car out of the hole is everything. To much spin will not go anywhere but all hook will bog the little motor. Also a good idea would be to get the car on a chassis dyno to get the jetting just right. Only trapping 74 in the 1/8th is only showing about 230 hp to the tires.

I recognize the track. You are racing at Greer Dragway in Greer, SC. Wondering if you are going back anytime soon. Let me know and I'll drive my black 69 down and maybe meet up and shoot the breeze. I haven't raced my car but go to the track about once a month. My car has 62,000 original miles and has a 350 M/21 trans and a 12 bolt with 3.73's.
