With a sig of '1 of 311', I'm assuming you have an '69 L89 Camaro?? Very cool.

I remember it like yesterday. I believe the accident occurred at the over pass on rt3, as you enter Westchester eastbound.

I understand he had a drinking problem and was drunk when he had the accident

He died in September of 1977 at the age of 32 after suffering fatal injuries in a head-on collision in his Corvette with a bus.

The accident happened on the Schuylkill Expressway (a major artery into Philadelphia) before there was a center barricade, the local report was that he crossed over the line intentionally https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

Re: Jungle Jim's Match Racer

Because of this thread, I had a conversation today with a long time friend, Jim's brother. I sent him this thread which he has been reading and totally denied that Jim may have intentionally crossed any line heading into oncoming traffic. He confirmed Jim was driving his Corvette on Rt.3 when he crested a hill and the cars front end went airborne loosing control. If he was a few seconds earlier or later he wouldn't have hit the SEPTA bus and probably would just would have ended up in the field.

Maybe I can convince him to register so he can comment further.
