Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
Well, to me if it has been restored, there is no way the car should be advertised as "all original". Some may differ on this opinion, but aren't they original the way they left the factory? I have read various descriptions of cars that the sellers say are original, and it seems there are very few that actually are real original.

Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
Kevin,
After posting that really late last night, (after a few too many Crown and Cokes no less I went back to edit it only to find I couldn't. I think you are correct that the L78 would have been canceled before the dual snorkle would have been released. However I have seen the dual snorkle on a couple of reported L78 cars, but haven't seen any factory documentation showing it to have been available. Sorry for any confusion. Hope you had a Merry Christmas... Greg |
Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
No shots of the engine pad and no mention of paperwork.
The seller states that "he has little knowledge of musclecars". Move carefuly, there are lots of questions that must be answered. Original is a lose term, I guess it could be a restoration to original condition, this is how I looked at it. I see some cars advertised as "original and unrestored" I guess this is repetitive even though I've used this term when selling a car. |

Greg, Guys with dual personalities should not drink too many crown and cokes, you may show up at Spring Carlisle as Elvis Presley...... What do you consider early? My brother has 2 LS-6 Chevelles with CO code dual snorkels. First car is early feb. built and the other car is june built."MOF"

Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
Mr Yenko...Being that 70 production probably started in August of 69, a Feb built 70 LS6 would be considered a mid to late production car. This seems close to the point where some late assembly plant changes can be documented. Does that Feb LS6 car have CO in box #55 on the build sheet? Anybody else have any more info to share?....Kevin

Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
They might want to put the "chevelle" emblem on the grill of that "totally correct" restored LS6.
One source I have shows the air cleaner transition date on L78 to dual snorkel would have been Feb/70. Wasn't the dual snorkel "standard" on the LS6 but because most LS6 buyers opted for the cowl induction option very few came with the "standard" dual snorkel configuration? |
Re: Sweet looking 70 LS6 Dual Snorkle Chevelle on Ebay
I understand what you are saying, but the LS-6 option didn't start till around late Dec. 69.So wouldn't that be considered a Early LS-6? Yes, both cars have CO code in box #55 and both air cleaners are with the cars. The Feb. car is a double black, bench seat 4-spd. Scuncio car.And the June car is double black, red interior.
