Re: 1967 Pace Car?

The guy who had the car is really into street rods, so he had no idea that this car was a pace car. He got it to the point where it's ready for epoxy primer and paint. He lost his job, needs cash....you know the story. We are removing all of his bolt on modifications. It'll look pretty stock & the paint will be correct. I have a 396 with an M21 bolted to it that's sitting here ready to go, also have correct BB radiator, brackets, pulleys, etc. Most of my parts are big block - so finishing it as a big block is easy & no extra $$..

We actually dropped the car off at the body/paint shop - so it's not at my house to photograph right now (just got a foot of snow). I'll try to get over there next week & post pics then.

The resto is well underway. I do have a question for you gurus though. The motor/trans that I'm using can be seen below - question - is the comp plus shifter going to interfere with an original '67 Camaro console?
Also - better chack to see if any of these parts "belong" in any member's cars before I install them in this car. #272 block (2 bolt "JU" with partial viv #161 at the filter bowl). Trans #010 with vin 6Z117134, build date P1130.

nope thats the one, only deal is and I dont see it on yours the bottom bolt on some let it rotate front to back if that makes sense, its nice as it lets you center the shifter in the slider on the console as sometimes when getting 1st or 3rd you can bottom out in the slider and start to chip the chrome on the shifter and the console insert and also helps to get it where it fits you...just right for that 1-2 grab https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

ps, hows your mental well being doing so many cars at once https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Peace, B.

Thanks Bud, FYI - I'm semi-retired and working on cars is like therapy. I really enjoy it. If I did it for a living I'd probably hate it, but I don't have to be in any hurry. These will probably be my last cars though (famous last words). My garage is full.
