This carb is a very nice original part that has been in storage since the early 70's. It came off of a 1969 Nova race car that had a 427 in it. Looking at all the parts that came with this distributor, the car looks to have been an L78 built in late Jan or Feb. The last picture shows other parts that came to me in the same deal.

This carburetor is in very good original condition as shown. The part number and date code are excellent with no damage. The metering blocks are the correct 5583 and 4519 units. All parts appear correct except the needle/seat inserts which are Borg Warner replacements. The correct needle/seats can simply be threaded in during rebuild. It will certainly look even better with some careful cleaning. I plan to clean it later today and will port updated pics. It has a Ford cross over tube installed on the fuel inlets for some reason. I imagine it was an attempt to keep it sealed. The other inlet of the front bowl is not threaded.
