Default R12 for ac?

My'67 GTO has the stock ac system intact. It was running R12 but I evacuated the system to replace a few components. I would like to refill it with R12 but its hard to find. The R134a retrofit is a big hassel and it just won't work as well with my system (e.g. the condenser, etc).
So I'm looking for an R12 source.

They come up here in the parts for sale section every so often. Not sure if Jim has any of these left but you can reach out.

----Check parts for sale here on the sight. Go back a number of pages and when you find some R12 the seller may not have sold it or all of it!....Bill S

Check craigslist in your are too...I see it every so often in my area, or go to swap meets.

What ever you do, do not convert it to R134A. You will never be happy with the conversion. In my experience, R134A in a R-12 system will be about 75% efficient. Bill

I’ve got some NOS R12 cans still.

Likely enough for you.

Send me a PM if interested.

Cheers,
Anthony

I also have some of the Oil Charge, which you may need if you completely evacuated the system.
