Insider tricks needed! Side wall clean/prep
I scrubbed and scrubbed my side walls on my Firestone 6.70 -15 tires (brand new Coker’s) with non-diluted Simple Green- i let it dry, then followed by Westley’s Bleche-White then I used Eagle One Tire Shine (satin) to dress them. Within one day the pie crust area looked like I had done nothing to prep the tire at all! Looked terrible. I know this is bleed thru of chemicals leaching out of the tire, but what are you show-going master gurus using to curb this?
THANKS!

Sam, I have had the same issues on the same tires that I have mounted on my Cragars and Aluminum Slots. I know what you mean, they get like a white chalky substance on them.
I have had good luck using either MGuires Vinyl and Rubber cleaner conditioner, I believe it's #40, or Vinylex. The Vinylex works very good. Not to worry my friend. I am the detail Guru, you can ask Woj... I will gladly help you at MCACN with any detailing issues. Actually I can bring some of my detailing stuff, I have both of those rubber cleaners I mentioned. Just text me and let me know. Rich

If you have the white crusty stuff on the tire, that is mold release. Try using a hair dryer not a heat gun. The white stuff will melt back into the tire and look like new.

All good info fellas. Much appreciated. I will try the dryer trick and then as a back up I will employ the Rutt solution as needed.
You guys are the best!! P.S. following the heating process with a dryer, does the mold stay put in the tire or will it leach out again?
