Hey Schony, We haven't had a draft board for over 30 years get over it. Also Nixson pardoned the dodgers. He was the president that had the balls to resign. Which I can't say that for your buddy clinton.

Speaking of Tricky Dick, I saw a bumper sticker the other day on the back of an otherwise immaculate Acura sedan with a gray haired boomer driving. It said "I never thought I'd miss Nixon".

On that note, its too bad Al Gore didn't use the heretofore undiscovered power of the Vice Presidency to help 'ol Bill. Apparently, the Vice Presidency has broad powers and reach, and isn't really accountable to any branch of the federal government. Poor Al, he could have had this whole global warming thing licked if only he had the initiative of Mr. Cheney (Tricky Dick, Mk II).

Back now to Novas with excessively large tires.....

Well, Jude has pretty much decided to stay pretty much stock. That's fine. It'll be pretty cool that way too.It would be interesting to see if the 1st owner had pics of it racing before it had the color change.

Dear Mr. Howie, you cannot get into Republican heaven, if you can't spell Nixon (Nixson) correctly. You're lucky he's dead, or he'd probably have your phone tapped, and have you on his undesirable persons list.
As for the draft. The army, and marines were unable to fill their quotas big time last month. They are now taking the kind of people that they had wanted to stay away from with the volunteer army as they've had to lower their requirements.
Your friends the neocons want to bomb Iran
Musharif is about to be overthrow in a nuclear armed Pakistan.(big nightmare)
And the bulk of the United States army is bogged down in Iraq.
Nevermind all the stuff going on in Africa from Somolia, to the oil fields of Niger., And the hell with Darfur, there ain't no oil there.
The eggs are in one basket, and they're in Iraq.
If things go from bad to worse, they may have no choice. Besides, they been usin the back door draft on the guard, and reserve guys for the last 2 years.
And it was Ford who allowed the dodgers who went to Canada to come home (amnesty)

The Republicans held power in all three branches of government for 6 years, and not one of them offered up a bill to repeal nafta. They obviously had the power to do it. Why not?
Mr Rich, and Mr. Libby should both be in jail Sometimes, be you Democrat, or Republican, you can't cure stupid.
Come on guys, You can't claim the moral high ground for the GOP anymore. That ballon just ain't flyin. Ole Bill was stupid, but he didn't run on a family values platform like the estemed senator from La, then get caught up in an escort scandal.People with bad sexual mores come in all party affiliations, and religions. Some get caught, some don't.

And at the end of the day, when you're sittin in that big ole chair with that man with a very stern face lookin down at you, readin from the book of your life, he ain't gonna care if you were president, or ditch digger when he passes that judgement on your a$$. So throw all those stones at slick Willie you want, Cause someday we're all gonna get to set in that big ole chair. And he don't give no pardons.

Seems any time a car surfaces that is in race/day 2 trim, such as Jude's Gibb Nova, a discussion begins as per how to restore. Always a very spirited debate. I for one always vote for dragcar/day 2, but I do see the other side.

IMO, it is about value. A lot of the old racecars began life as pretty rare cars, thus in original condition hold alot of value. Though most ZL-1 went racing, their value seems to be in original condition. The exception may be ZL-1 #1, but as neat as the history of that car is, and no doubt very valuable, it would set records if sold restored back to original condition.

Of course there are the obvious exceptions, Gumpy's cars, Sox/Martin, Arnie, etc.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that most folks enjoy seeing the old racecars the way they were raced, but do not want the burden of showing one. Unlike cars restored back to original, which are relative easy to show and enjoy, a racecar can be a PITA.

Will be interesting to watch how a well known '67 Z28 will do at auction this fall at Mecum, the Fred Gibb car known as Lil Hoss. As it sits today, a couple of collectors have told me they value it at somwhere between $100-150,000.00, not a lot more then a nice '67 Z.

And what makes you think she's gonna let you day2 that beautiful Nova?

Cumby said it best.........
"Enjoy your fantasy world while you can!"

Actually after talking to her tonight she thought it would be pretty cool to put vinyl race decals, headers, mags and drag tires on it as it was back in '68 for one show just to be different. A couple of hours and it would be back to stock again.

For SCR1, CLiff Ernst did this to one of his Yenko Camaros. All of the decals were magnetic, so the only parts requiring much effort were the hood and tunnel ram. Would be wild if one year for the SCR we all did this, with supercar logos, pet names, racing decals, day two/race parts installed...

I know we're in. After all that is where most of these cars got their start. It would be wild (and also a nice change) to see a bunch of these cars dressed up in Day II or race trim. For the most part it would be the addition of wheels, tires, headers, air cleaner, tach and some decals and would require little more than a days effort. Just look at Ray's car for an example, great to see it in it's glory.
